The Deutz HC8V598/18D marine engine, with an 8-cylinder V-type configuration and 15.874L displacement, is commonly used in boats, yachts, motorboats, tugboats, cargo ships, passenger ships, and barges. It delivers 440 kW (598 HP) at 1800 rpm, with a low idle speed of 550 rpm and fuel consumption of ≥195 g/kW·h. The engine features turbocharging and intercooling, an EUP fuel system, and a 16.5:1 compression ratio.
